HOW TO BE A LADY(2)

HOW TO BE A LADY AT THE OFFICE

source:bing.com
A lady never assumes she can address her boss by her or his first name until she has been directed to do so. She always shows respect, not only for her superiors, but also for those who work for her.

She offers to help her coworkers who must be off work because of religious or health reasons. These favours go a long way in showing appreciation of others. Also, when she recognizes an outstanding contribution of a coworker, she is not envious, but sincerely commends him or her.

A lady realizes that the more professionally she presents herself in the workplace, the more seriously she will be taken. She therefore does not smack her gum at the office and stands when introduced to others at the office. she does not barge into another's office even if the door has been left open nor does she fight her boss, coworkers and clients.

If a lady is in a position to supervise others in her office, she does not attempt to dictate. Instead, she directs. She does not miss deadlines but she also knows that sick children are more important than a deadline at the office.

Lastly, if a lady must leave her job, for whatever reason, she does so graciously, expressing her appreciation to management for her learning experience with that company.

HOW TO BE A LADY (1)

I have just finished reading a gentlemanners book titled : How to Be A Lady by Candace Simpson-Giles. I was able to glean some wisdom from the book. This month I'll be sharing some of these wisdom nuggets to make us better socially

 WHO IS A LADY?

B

eing a woman does not automatically make one a lady. A lady by today's definition knows that educating herself in every way possible, from higher education to the common sense manners, empowers her to become a woman of accomplishment and poise.

She knows that it is not the dress size she wears or the money she possesses that brings her satisfaction in life. A lady knows that beauty and wealth can be fleeting, but her inner character is the measure by which others will ultimately judge her as a person.

Her courtesies, the high esteem in which she holds herself and others, and her sincere words of praise and thoughtfulness will reflect her strong values and place her ahead in the minds and hearts of those who know her.

Lastly, a lady is intelligent, wise and understands that there is a center to this present world. She understands that there is someone (God) who directs and controls its affairs from the center. She therefore seeks to know this God and establish a personal relationship with Him so that her future (in this world and the next) is securely secure. So, ARE YOU A LADY?

2013 - LIVE ON PURPOSE

Thank God you made it to 2013! Long before you shouted, “HAPPY NEW YEAR,” God already saw you here and He brought you into it because of his faithfulness and mercy. For some people, it’s another time to make resolutions and endless lists of all they would like to either do or not do in the year. For others, it’s just another year to cruise along without any plans or goals in sight.

However, I would have you know these as you journey along in the year:
1.   Whether you are single now or married, God expects you to bear more fruits this year. So if you had ten last year, God expects you to come up higher and bear more. Remember, complacency is not allowed in the kingdom.
2.   God expects that you will discover your purpose and live it. We serve a God who does things on purpose. He doesn’t and won’t waste His resources for any reason. If he has brought you into 2013, then know it is for a reason. You must discover that reason and fulfill it.
3.   God expects you to keep dreaming, keep believing, and keep taking those steps of faith. We are not called unto stagnancy; rather we are to keep moving on. Dream great things, set great targets for yourself, believe God for the best and also believe in your dreams. Are you above 30 and you think it’s too late for you to get married? Well, God expects you to challenge him, make that your goal, believe Him and see what He alone will do.
4.   God expects that you grow up. By this I mean that you must develop your mind. Read books, meditate, study the bible, attend seminars, surround yourself with Godly mentors, etc just anything that will make you grow in wisdom, knowledge and walk in truth.
5.   God expects that you get closer to Him. Yes, God created us first to fellowship with him. This has not changed at all. God is still looking for those who will do that. Make up your mind to spend more time with God this year and He will in turn surprise you with His presence.

T
his year must be better than last year because the glory of the latter shall be greater than that of the former. Give this year the best shot spiritually, mentally, financially, career/business wise and you’ll sing along with the overcomers at the end.

KEYS OF LOVE

--    By Pastor Ese Ochoga
Keys give access through doors and enable machines and systems to operate. Love is a machinery divinely built and made available to all men to operate in order to foster good interpersonal relationships and keep vices out of human communities while developing harmony, peace, affection, empathy, purity and several other virtues. The love machinery is lodged within us. Three keys will help to keep them running in full cycle: think love, speak love, and act love.
THINK LOVE: This is foundational and the first area to attend to. If we allow hate, vengeance, envy, deceit, lies, corrupt tendencies to have a place in our thought life we will repeatedly falter in love at home and outside. To love is to think good towards others, ultimately. This thought weighs how to respond to every situation and still remain within the love parenthesis. It thinks of how to channel love so  that it saves and does not destroy; it is not misinterpreted for lust or selfishness, so that it both covers the wrong and later disposes it completely. Love is a beautiful thought of how to deliver the ultimate good.
SPEAK LOVE: if one has conditioned the heart to love, it will be first evident in the tone and quality of speech and it is further reflected, often, in the facial appearance. Even when offended the language of love still proceeds forth. Are your words encouraging, reassuring, comforting and wishing others the best? Practice controlling your tone and facial expression which speaks volumes. Let love flow in your choice of words and expressions.
ACT LOVE: Actions that match your thoughts and speeches complete the love cycle. If the food is cooked and the aroma pervades everywhere but it is not delivered on the table for action to be taken on it, too bad, that will certainly be unsatisfying.
Now take up these keys- think, speak and act love. Keep working through them and see what wonderful transformation and returns it will bring back to you in time and eternity!
