HOW TO BE A LADY (7)

 A LADY AND MONEY

A
lady knows that money does not grow on trees as some people think, nor does she have to ‘sell’ her body in order to make money as some foolishly do.

She understands that money is given in exchange for value added. She refuses to eat the bread of idleness but engages her hands in activities that would yield profit at the end of the day. To her there is dignity in labour.

She sees money as a means to an end, not an end in itself. Therefore she is not ruled by it but uses her money to support and promote noble causes within the society.

She is prudent in her spending habits. She does not buy things on impulse, but has a budget and plan from which she operates. She also does not spend all she earns, nor does she spend above her income. She invests the little she sets aside from her earnings.

She is a woman who can be trusted with money. She does not steal money from her friends, place of work, and others around her. Even if she must borrow some money, she endeavours to pay back as soon as she can.

A lady is generous to God and those around her. Because of this, she faithfully gives God one tenth of her increase and contributes towards assisting the needy members of the society.
